Wheel theft in Lake Dallas
The city's former special events director, Holly Dietrick, knows how to get the word out. She sent us a press release today, with photos, describing a theft her father suffered overnight in front of his home in the Jackson Ranch subdivision. Here is what she wrote:
Lake Dallas resident, Curtis Trivitt, was shocked to see the state of his vehicle when he walked out the door to head to work this morning. His 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, sitting outside the Jackson Ranch subdivision home, was missing all four 22" custom chrome wheels. Trivitt immediately called the Lake Dallas Police Department and with the help of Sgt. Ben Sleigh filed a theft report. Trivitt reported that, although the Avalanche was parked very close to the house, he never heard any suspicious sounds indicating the removal of the tires. Sgt. Sleigh said that this type of crime can happen within 5 minutes if there are several highly experienced robbers involved.
Evidence from vehicle was obtained and taken back to the station in order to search for fingerprints or any other evidence leading to the identity of the thieves.
Trivitt plans on putting special locked tires and an alarm on his vehicle as well as extra security on the front of his home now that this has happened. He is thankful nothing further was done to his vehicle or home, but wants others to be warned about this kind of crime in the community.
